    Greeting from PA

Post by MrJim on Thu Feb 19, 2015 6:04 pm

Avid listener of Gun Nation Podcast~heard Doc mention there was a forum on an episode so thought I'd check it out.

I'm a former Marine but now just an old dude that still likes to get out and shoot~enjoy the topics and banter and hope to pick up some information here and maybe lend a voice when I can.

I like introducing new shooters to the sport~I have been a licensed carry guy now for pushing 15 years..usually a J frame .38 but sometimes my full sized Beretta 92.  I like the old rifles too; picked up a lightly sporterized 1918 SMLE from a friend for not a lot of cash and looking forward to getting out to the range with it.  I also work with a world-class handgun shooter so we chat up gun stuff regularly and there are a lot of gun folks at work.

    Thanks Cool

Hello! Another jarhead. ?what did you do in the Corps. ?What years were you in.

    Thanks for your service.

Nice, cozy place here without blowhards. We don't know everything, but we still manage to exchange info, and have a fine time of doing that.

This year will mark 30 years since I got out (82-85)~~2531 Field Radio Operator with artillery at Camp LeJeune~~2/10 2dMarDiv....and if you've were there when I was then you've gotten the mail and news about the bad water there and the failure of the base to provide clean water...travesty not many have heard about.. Evil or Very Mad Nothing like a letter from HQUSMC to let you know about all this...

OK I don't have enough posts yet to give a link but google "LeJeuen Water Contamination" and you'll be educated...Obama signed into law last year that those affected will be covered by VA medical if we contract any of a nasty list of cancers and diseases  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes

So when I meet young folk talking about enlisting I share with them just how much the gov't really cares about the troops~~between this and the VA business the Afghanistan/Iraq vets at work share with me I try to steer them towards something less hazardous.
