    Encore!

Post by Cornmastah on Wed Apr 27, 2016 1:15 am

I did it. I bought a Thompson Center Encore frame. I am going to probably going to pay the tax stamp and do the paperwork to SBR it. That way, I can use pistol barrels with the rifle stock and whatever I want. I foresee some interesting calibers and barrel lengths.

Dang! What a great idea! Those Thompsons have always intrigued me.

When you got the frame, was it designated as a pistol or rifle, or is that something that just occurs naturally when you decide to put a stock on it?

It came as just a frame. I believe you can switch between pistol and rifle as long as you don't combine the rifle stock with pistol barrel without first registering it as an SBR. I'm thinking maybe a 50 Alaskan pistol? And later putting the stock on it after registering it? I got a cool mold for a good deal which casts a single 650ish gr bullet with a .513 diameter. I want to use this bullet in something.
